Slovak carriers will be able to start using the European electronic toll collection service from March 15, 2024. This was announced by the National Motorway Company. One of the officially accredited EETS providers in Slovakia is Eurowag.
"We have completed a successful pilot operation, during which we tested the on-board units over 10,000 kilometers on motorways and first-class roads and obtained technical accreditation," says Milan Moravský from Eurowag.
Although there are still ten days until the full start of operations, carriers can order EETS services from Eurowag today. "The customer can arrange everything in advance and enjoy the benefits of the new system from day one" he adds.
The European toll system will bring hauliers better services and, above all, greater comfort. „When transiting through countries that use EETS, a single on-board unit will be sufficient. In addition, Eurowag's basic telematics package is included, additional features can be easily ordered" says Moravský. If they request the service beforehand, they will receive the OBE in advance, allowing them to have it ready for use on the day the EETS launches.
