The Fleet Management Service offers a new feature to optimise fleet performance using telematics data to help drivers improve their driving style through personalised recommendations. The Coach Report not only assesses but also advises on specific improvements in habits for better safety, lower fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear.
Prague 11 November 2024 - Eurowag, Europe's leading provider of integrated road transport solutions, is launching an enhanced fleet management service. The latest update focuses on features that evaluate driver behaviour such as braking, engine over-revving and unnecessary idling. A new 'coaching' service has been added to give drivers personalised tips on how to improve their driving.
The fleet management service helps to optimise fleet performance with useful telematics data. This gives dispatchers a real-time overview of all vehicles and drivers. In addition, telematics enables automation of processes, saving time and costs. Last but not least, driving data collection helps to monitor driver performance, identify inefficient habits and ultimately improve driving style. It is this last aspect that the new Coach Report feature focuses on.
"The collection of driver behaviour data is part of Eurowag's fleet management service. In a simple and user-friendly interface, dispatchers and fleet managers can find all the information that is important to them. This includes not only basic information about the driver, i.e. total mileage or hours behind the wheel, but also advanced metrics that affect consumption and wear and tear on the vehicle, such as anticipation, braking, coasting, cruise control use, engine over-revving and idling time,"
explains Veronika Jantáková, Head of Product Marketing at Eurowag.
Based on the data from the vehicle telematics, each driver receives an overall score in the fleet management system. This consists of three main areas: the driving score (the parameters assessed include accelerator or cruise control dwell time, driver anticipation and exceeding maximum effective speed), the eco-driving score (the parameters assessed include fuel-free driving time, Ecoroll, towing time at more than 85 km/h and idling time longer than two minutes) and the car wear score (mainly brake usage is assessed). In total, the system assesses nine driver behaviour parameters. In addition, the improved user interface makes it very easy to set up a monthly rating overview or to compare drivers against each other.
The new Coach Report function can assess which parameters have the most significant impact on the overall score and advise on where a particular driver should focus.
"Most fleet management systems can collect data on drivers but no longer advise on how to improve driving style. That's why we decided to bring functionality to the Eurowag system that can realistically help with inefficient driving habits. After all, it's not only a question of safety, but also of savings. A driver with the right driving habits can save an average of two litres of fuel per hundred kilometres,"
adds Veronika Jantáková.
