Eurowag's new Market Report provides an overview of the most notable transport companies in the categories Market leader, Silent performer, Sustainability star and Tech traiblazer and predicts the development and trends in the industry in 2025.
Prague 17 December 2024 - The international report on the state of the commercial road transport (CRT) industry, Transforming Transportation 2024, has been published by Eurowag. It assesses developments in the CRT sector in the nine European markets where the company operates, provides an overview of how commercial road transport works in these countries, and also offers an overview of inspiring customers in the categories Market leader, Silent performer, Sustainability star and Tech traiblazer. Individual Eurowag country managers add their own comments and assessments of the situation in the markets for which they are responsible.
The European commercial road transport in 2024 faced persistent challenges, including rising operational costs and a significant driver shortage of 233,000 professionals. However, the industry showed resilience, with major players embracing innovation, digitalization, and sustainable practices like the adoption of eMobility or alternative fuels such as HVO.
Eurowag has thirty years of experience and insight into a market that is rapidly evolving and moving towards new technologies. In conversations with its customers, it wants to show how innovation can be combined with practical steps to ensure clean and efficient road transport. In total, twentynine Eurowag's customers from nine markets participated in the study.
In the Market Leader category, the company presented representatives of companies that are recognised market leaders, whether in terms of their size, length of business or the complexity of the services they provide. With extensive experience, they have built a solid foundation and optimized their operations for unmatched efficiency and reliability.
The Tech Trailblazer category included companies that use modern technology to improve operational efficiency in fleet management, telematics, navigation, mobile payments or billing. These companies are leaders in the use of new tools that reduce downtime and operational costs, leading to improved performance and sustainability. The Sustainability Star category features companies that are ahead of the curve in green practices to reduce CO2 emissions and use alternative fuels. These companies are focusing on the use of biofuels, hybrid or electric vehicles to significantly reduce their carbon footprint, and are using route optimization software to reduce unnecessary driving.
The Silent Performer category includes small but strong companies known for their flexibility, in-depth knowledge of the local market and consistent service. Their greatest strength is often their ability to adapt quickly to customer needs and offer a personalised approach that builds strong relationships. By showcasing the stories of selected key customers, Eurowag inspires other companies to innovate and improve their services. In addition, the Transforming Transportation report is also used to present the company at international trade fairs.
