Frequently asked questions for Eurowag navigation

General

Is Eurowag Navigation for free?

Yes, you simply need to download the app, create an account, and use it for free. 

However, you can also obtain additional features by becoming a Eurowag client. To do this, refer the app to your company.

Is Eurowag Navigation available on Android or iOS? What are software requirements?

Yes, the app is available on both Android and iOS.

Software requirements:

  • Android 7 and above
  • iOS 16 and above
For what vehicle types is Eurowag Navigation suitable?

You can create and customize a vehicle profile based on your vehicle to get customized routing and navigation. Currently, the app supports the following vehicle types:

  • Truck (N2, N3)
  • Van (N1)
  • Passenger car (M1)
  • Bus (M2, M3)
In which countries is Eurowag Navigation available?

The app is currently available in all European countries.

Troubleshooting

Can’t install the app

If you’re getting an error message while trying to install the app, please try the following:

  1. Restart the device (turn it OFF and ON again).
  2. Check available storage space. We recommend having at least 1 GB of storage available before installing the app.
  3. Check compatibility. Your device must run on Android 7 (and above) or iOS 16 (and above).
  4. For Google Play (Android), please follow the instructions on this link: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/9037938?hl=en
  5. For the App Store (iOS), if a blue account button appears at the top of the App Store, you might need to log in.
  6. For the App Store (iOS), please check your payment method. You might need to have it updated even if the app’s free.
Routing or navigation issues

Please make sure the app is up to date. Search for the app in Google Play or the App Store and update it if possible.

The app crashes, freezes, or doesn’t open

If you get a system message that the app is not responding or stopped working, please report this using the "Report" option in the message.

The following might help you:

  1. Turn your device off and on again.
  2. Force close and empty cache: If the application stops responding or the problem persists, force close the application and clear the cache in your device’s settings – Applications – Eurowag Navigation.
  3. Update your app if possible.
  4. Update your operating system if possible.
  5. To avoid device overloading, don’t run too many apps simultaneously.
  6. Reset to defaults: Go to Menu – Settings – Info and select "Reset to defaults". Then, turn the app off and on again.
  7. Reinstall the app: Open Google Play or the App Store and search for the app. Tap on “uninstall” and wait until it’s done. Then tap on “install”.
The app keeps stopping in the background

This might be caused by device overloading. Closing other apps running in the background might help solve the problem.

My GPS position cannot be acquired

Your device may lose GPS signal under any of the following conditions:

The device is in a building, tunnel, or location where other solid objects obstruct signals from the GPS satellites. Since GPS signals don't penetrate solid objects, it takes longer for the signal to reach you. Therefore, any troubleshooting of GPS-related issues needs to be done outside, under the clear sky, without any buildings or solid objects in the way.

Make sure your location is ON and you have allowed the app to access it

Force close/Clear data & Reset to defaults

Restart your device and go to Android settings > Apps > Eurowag Navigation > Force stop and clear data. Then launch Eurowag Navigation and go to Menu – Settings – Info – Reset to defaults

Reported incident is gone

After reporting an incident, it will appear on the map for only a specific period and then disappear. The rule is that your incident remains on the map until other users mark it as invalid.

Sounds are not working

Sounds/media volume

Check your device’s sounds/media volume and adjust it if needed.

Notifications settings

If you hear voice instructions but don’t get any notification, it might be disabled. Check notifications in Eurowag Navigation – menu – settings – notifications.

Also, please make sure your app is up to date: Find Eurowag Navigation in Google Play or the App Store and update it if possible.

Check your input

Check for any typos.

When entering GPS coordinates, use the right symbols and enter longitude and latitude in the correct order.

Log in issues

If you created your account using your email address, log in with your email address. 

If you used the Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-up option, please log in using the same option. You need to be logged in to the Google/Facebook/Apple account on your device.

How to set up a vehicle profile

You can set up to seven different vehicle profiles and specify their parameters. Routing and restriction alerts are then adjusted accordingly. Add a vehicle profile via the plus icon in the top right corner.

Go to Menu – Vehicle:

1. First, choose a category of your vehicle. You can create multiple vehicle profiles of the same or different categories (for example, three various truck profiles or one truck and one delivery van).

2. You can rename the vehicle profile for more customization.

3. The created profile will be selected for use. If you would like to use another profile, tap the profile you want to set.

4. To edit the vehicle profile, tap the pencil icon next to it.

5. To remove a vehicle profile, go to the vehicle details via the pencil icon next to it and choose “delete vehicle profile” at the bottom. Please note, you need to have at least one vehicle profile set to use the app.

How to create a route

You can set any place as your starting point. Tap the place to expand the bottom sheet, then choose “Set as starting point” in the details.

The route planner appears. Type the destination in the field “Search for destination” or choose “Select from map”. Tap the desired location, then “+ Set as destination”, or if the location details are expanded, tap the “+” button.

The route planner now shows the starting point and destination. You can launch navigation using the arrow icon at the bottom or customize the route by tapping the “Edit” button next to the route planner panel.

How to add a waypoint during route planning or navigation

It’s possible to add stops (called waypoints) and reorganize the starting point, destination, and waypoints. Simply drag and drop the symbol “=” next to the point.

How to avoid certain road types

You can choose another vehicle profile or change route options. It’s possible to adjust parameters for each country the route passes through or avoid an entire country if another route is available.

The route types that you can avoid:

  1. Highways
  2. Toll Roads
  3. Congestion Charge Zones
  4. Ferries
  5. Unpaved Roads
How to add my favorite place or route

To add a place to Favorites, tap the “+” button and search for a point of interest, address, or GPS coordinates.

You can also add a favorite directly from a location on the map. Select the location – expand the bottom sheet – select the “Add to favorites” option.

Use the Home and Work items at the top of the list of Favorites and set your home and work addresses for easy access. These items cannot be deleted, but you can change or clear the addresses.

To rename or delete a Favorite, tap the three dots button next to it. Please note, tap the “Delete” option only if you wish to proceed, as there won’t be any additional dialogue.

Can I search for companies by name?

Yes, you can. Enter the company's name in the search box, and specify the city and country for better results.

How to search using GPS coordinates ?

Simply input coordinates into the search box and tap “Search”. You can use two coordinate formats:

Decimal degrees format: 41.15555, -8.58197

Degrees, minutes, and seconds format: N 41°09ʹ20ʺ W 8°34ʹ55ʺ

Enabling automatic day and night mode

Go to Eurowag Navigation – menu – settings – map view & units – color scheme.

You can choose among the following options:

  1. Switch automatically
  2. Day – The color scheme will always be in the day mode.
  3. Night – The color scheme will always be in the night mode.
  4. Follow system preference – The color scheme will follow the settings of your device.
How to change app language

Go to Menu – Settings – Language & Voice – Application language.

Can I change the font size?

There is no way to adjust font size directly in the application.

However, you can usually set a different font size for your device. The changes would then also appear in the application. Please note that Eurowag navigation isn’t optimized for different font sizes, so the app layout might get disordered.

How to delete app cache or data?

You can delete cache or app data from your device by going to your device’s settings – apps – Eurowag Navigation – storage – clear cache/data. Please note that after deleting the app data, you will be required to log in to the application again.
